Features Verification matrix
How you'll know it works
The Verification lens is a verification cross-reference matrix: one row per requirement, a column for each method and the state of each. Plan the activities, record their results, and see closure at a glance.

The matrix
Columns for Inspection, Analysis, Demonstration and Test, and the requirement's state at the end of each row. Click an empty cell to add that method for that requirement.
Activities
Every verification activity in one list, failing first, with its status set in place: draft, planned, passed, failed or blocked.
Closure
A requirement has passed when all its activities have passed, and is failing when any has failed or is blocked. The counts roll up on Overview.
Part of the model
Verifications are records in the model, linked to their requirements, so traceability, completeness and the brief all read them, and the Trace tool shows them beside what satisfies each requirement.
Questions
- What is a VCRM?
- A verification cross-reference matrix lists each requirement against the methods that will verify it (inspection, analysis, demonstration and test), so a team can see that every requirement has a plan, and later a result.
- Which verification methods does Cairn use?
- The four standard ones: inspection, analysis, demonstration and test.
